MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
v Stethoscope: instrument which consist of a hollow end and two thin tubes with ear pieces to listen somebody’s heart and breathing
v Wheel chair: special chair with wheels,to be used by people who cannot walk
v Syringe: plastic or glass tube with a rubber part at the end to suck up the liquid and push it out
v Needle: a very thin pointed piece of steel to put a drug into someone’s body or taking blood out of it
v Sinus forceps: used for exploring a wound
Cheatle’s forceps: used for handling sterile instruments
Artery forceps: used for stop bleeding
Dissecting forceps: used for handling sterile dressings
Clip-removing forceps: use for removing clips
Knife: sharp blade with a handle for cutting
Blade: the flat part of knife
Thermometer: used for measuring the temperature of body, air, etc
Bandage scissor: used for cutting bandages
Suture scissor: used for taking out suture
Tongue depressor: thin flat instrument that used for pressing the tongue
Pincers: is a tool made of two crossed pieces metal, for holding things firmly and pulling Things
Stitch: short piece of thread to sew the edges of a wound together
Probe: long thin instrument that doctors used for touching, examining or looking for something
Bandage: strip of fabric used for tying around a part of the body that has been hurt in order to protect or support it
Jar or cylinder: round glass container, with a lid, to put the instrument
Bowl: deep round dish with a wide open top
Gallipot: small vessel for lotions
Tray: flat piece of wood, metal, or plastic with raised edges for carrying or holding things
Mask: used for covering a part or all of the face, worn to hide or protect it
Trolley: wheeled vehicle for carrying instrument
Receiver: kind of dish used especially for washing surgery instruments
Catheter: tube to take out urine
Crutch: wood or metal support to help patient walk
